About Youngberg Hill Vineyard

As soon as you start the winding ascent to our tasting room, you quickly realize that “life on the Hill” is tranquil.

After spending two years in Burgundy in 1991-92, grower and winemaker Wayne Bailey decided he wanted to return to his farming roots. In 2003, the Nicolette and Wayne Bailey found Youngberg Hill, providing an opportunity for their three daughters to experience a sustainable, responsible farm environment. From the beginning, Wayne wanted the focus to be on the wines. They overhauled the entire estate, including vineyard management, winemaking, tasting room, and hospitality.

Set on a 50-acre hilltop surrounded by exquisite vineyards and views, Youngberg Hill is one of Wine Spectator’s favorite locations. From the wrap-around porch, you will enjoy tasting the award-winning wines, while looking down on 20 acres of grapevines allowing you to imagine you are in Tuscany, from which these vines originate. Watch the Scottish Highland and Black Angus cattle and view Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson. Youngberg Hill gives you the staycation that makes you feel you are actually on vacation. Today, Youngberg Hill invites you to swirl, sip, and savor their Pinot Noirs, Chardonnay, Pinot Gri, and Pinot Blanc. Enter serenity.

The setting of the winery and Inn could not be more beautiful located as it is at the top of the hill. Christmas garland decorated the porches and our room had sweeping views of the vineyards outside and a cozy fireplace inside. The next morning included a wonderful breakfast of fruit and stuffed french toast.

As we made our way up the long, beautiful drive to the inn, we knew we had made a wonderful decision to stay here! We were warmly greeted at the door by the hostess, who seemed to have every detail of our stay there well in hand. We arranged a seated tasting, which we highly recommend, which was a great way to kick off our stay in wine country. The staff, scenery and hospitality can't be beat!
