Creating the Perfect Negroni with Charbay Blood Orange Vodka
We share with you one of our favorite fall/winter cocktail classic signature cocktails, the Negroni, featuring Charbay Blood Orange Vodka.
The Negroni is a popular Italian cocktail, made of one part gin, one part vermouth rosso, and one part Campari, garnished with orange peel. It is considered an apéritif. A properly made Negroni is stirred, not shaken, and built over ice in an old fashioned or ‘rocks’ glass. Finished to perfection with a slice of orange.
Easy to make and refreshingly bitter, the Negroni is said to have been invented in Florence, Italy by an Italian count who requested that the barkeep replace the club soda in his Americano with Gin. It was a substitution that launched a thousand variations, including our own which is swapping out the Gin with Charbay Blood Orange Vodka.
In its hundred-year history, few cocktails have encouraged more frenzied experimentation than the beloved Negroni, simple but elegant. Perfect for sitting around the table as a signature after-dinner cocktail or my favorite setting is sitting around the fire pit- say apres ski or at the house. Pair it with s'mores and you'll be in heaven! Its one-to-one-to-one recipe of Charbay Blood Orange Vodka, Campari and sweet vermouth that makes the platform on which generations of barkeeps that will continue to experiment with.
