Dating back to antiquity, before the advent of recording and personal electronic devices, musical artists in every corner of the world performed in public as the most common way to make a living. Over the past several decades, with the ascension of digital music and the Internet, and thus the deconstructionism of the music business’s economic model, contemporary artists of merit are returning to the streets for fiscal independence and success.
Author Heather Jacks’ multimedia book “The Noise Beneath the Apple,” which includes a full-length vinyl LP, celebrates this return to the streets and the art of busking. Along with an intimate and interactive forum with Jacks, Jessup Cellars will bring the project to life by immersing guests in the project’s music, the screening of its documentary short, and opening a month-long exhibition of the book’s photography at our Yountville gallery.
To walk the talk, frontman Billy Kingsborough of the rock group Kingsborough, will lay down the evening’s soundtrack. Of course, Jessup Cellars wines will be on this “All Senses” menu of artistic expression!
