Experience The Renaissance of a Napa Icon...

Raymond Vineyards, founded in 1970, is one of the Napa Valley's pioneers and great estates. Arriving to Napa in 1933, the Raymond family became deeply connected to the valley's winemaking origins. In 1970, they established a 90-acre estate in Rutherford that now comprises 300 acres in Rutherford, St. Helena and Jameson Canyon. Five generations of the Raymond family created a Napa icon, with an enduring reputation for elegant wines with a beautiful balance of finesse, power and complexity.

Today, inspired by the vision of Proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset, Raymond is a dynamic destination dedicated to inspiring its guests' passion for fine wine in an environment of exploration, creativity, and elegant whimsicality, where each in a series of diverse experiences progresses visitors into another world of discovery and exceptional wines.

Further, Raymond's Rutherford and St. Helena estate vineyards are certified organic and Biodynamic, and 100% of the winery's power comes from renewable solar energy.

During a brief weekender to Napa this winery was recommended by the downtown visitors center. We wish we would have had more time to enjoy a few of the additional tours this eclectic and energizing winery had to offer. We reserved online a day earlier and were accommodated. Light snacks, good friendly and hospitable conversation from the tour staff and the wines offered on the day were delish.

We had an amazing time, our tourguide provided us with a complete tour of everething related to the place, even stuff not related to wine fabrication. Then he gave us a tour of every amazing room the cellar has. The tourguide was very friendly and we end up sharing experiences about our other wine related trips.

We spent several awkward minutes waiting for our hostess to greet us. Very cool stuff in the gift shop, but a little too much time there. Once Mary met us and began our experience, it was awesome. She took care of us like friends not tourists from Indiana. If guests are looking for a unique winery, which was one of our criteria, with great wine, barrell tasting is special.

This vineyard feels very whimsical. A lot of really unique 'experiences' and things to see. Winemaker for a day was a really fun experience! Funny enough, Raymond wine ended up not being our favorite wine (it was good- we just liked other vineyards wine we went to better) but we loved the experience and opportunity to blend and bottle your own. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested!

In my opinion the internet pictures are misleading and not what we paid for. We paid for a Crystal Cellar experience @ $30 pp which I thought was a sit-down experience as shown in the picture on the internet. The wine was fabulous but we were escorted to STAND at a private bar in the Crystal room. Not the experience we thought we had paid for! Save your money with a regular drop-in bar tasting.

Everything was awesome, the elderly gentleman serving our tastings at the main tasting bar was very polite and informative, he made for a very enjoyable experience. After our tasting we walked around to explore and the second we opened the door to the "red room" some lady working that tasting room very rudely yelled at us, which immediately ruined our awesome experience.

The winery was very beautiful and the wine was decent. Nothing really knocked our socks off. We were impressed by the unique decor and the very chic style, however, their was no real history or learning in terms of the wines or the process in which they were made. It was more like enjoying a glass of wine at a boutique hotel verse going to an upscale winery in Napa.

Have enjoyed plenty of Raymond wines but the tasting was lacking effort. The server sounded like she was reading from a script. I could have offered up a better description. We took some fabulous pictures but of all the wineries our party of 10 visited in 4 days, this was the only one in which we didn't leave with a single case:(

Raymond was one if the most unique and beautiful winery we've visited anywhere in the world. It's modern and clean. We went at 10am when they first opened and all staff were so busy getting ready for the day the they hardly noticed we were there. We booked the cellar tour and it was great. The barrel sample was of the 2010 vintage. Overall great experience but wish we could've seen more.

Wine-maker for a day is a great experience--particularly with a loved one or some friends or family. The experience is unique and a fabulous break from the average tasting/pairing. Go after you've visited a few wineries and put your knowledge and palate to good use. Fun, relaxing, and Raymond's professional but easy-going staff all contribute to a great time.

From outside, it looks like a typical winery. Behold, you are in a whole different world when you enter! We did the tasting in the Crystal Room, and our lovely host was Rebecca Fletcher. We had an amazing time and experience. Rebecca was very knowledgeable about the wine and the winery. We fell in love with the wine especially the Rutherford Cab and Generations Cab. We signed up for the wine club!

Showed up early, but they made it a non-issue. Staff was welcoming, informative, engaged. Directed me to the "Crystal Cellar" for the red wine tasting, and promised an exceptional experience (which they delivered in full). Extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff in explaining the wines, contributing to my enjoyment. I came in feeling Raymond was "just another old label" and left a HUGE fan!

We had to wait 30 min before being greeted. We were the only customers in the lobby! A large party arrived right before us and Raymond's lost their reservation so they took the party 10 minutes before our reserved time slot. When we asked about our reserved tour, they said to show ourselves in. $40/person to walk into 1 room where we couldn't even get a tasting because of the crowd. TRY ELSEWHERE!

One of the most unique wineries in Napa hosts a really fun winemaking experience. We went with a group of 6 and had a blast. Stainless steel room inside the winery with black lights, disco ball, music, and wineblending...great for groups. This was the one that we were all talking about after our trip. Great wine, friendly staff and totally unique experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The winery is nice with unique experiences such as dog friendly garden, nice garden with plants and farm animals, sensory experience, and crystal room is nice (but I sort of expected a seated tasting given I made reservations at 12 and you could only make reservations on the hour.) I could have as easily just walked in the winery and tasted wine then made advance reservations.

Raymond is much more than a winery. They have the outdoor "theatre" which showcases food and farm and they have a sensory exhibit inside where you can sniff the smells you often find in wine. They had some great tasting offerings and were very friendly in the traditional tasting room. It was a nice stop to do a bit more than just taste wine.

what a disappointing experience. From the bad European techno music, to the dexter-esque decor, I felt like I was in a bad scene for a horror movie. The wine wasn't exceptional and not worth the 100.00 tasting fee. The staff was completely un-enthused to serve us and she looked like she wished to be anywhere but standing in front of us. Having made a reservation I was surprised to find the tasting counter several people deep. One hostess poured the first pour and then said she had other guests she was escorting somewhere else. Apparently they were more important. However, once we had a new host the experience was wonderful. The wines were impressive. Despite the rocky start, we came away with a fun experience.

However, after visiting much more bouji wineries, this was a welcome change to what we had experienced at Silveroak and Caymus, which arguably (or not) have better wines. The music, ambience, friendliness of other patrons and total cool factor made it one of the most memorable experiences of our time in Napa! Go for the experience!

This winery is exceptionally cheezy. The wine they pour for the $20 tasting is below table wine. On top the $20 fee is outrageous. There are many other wineries pouring top notch wines with a similar or smaller tasting fee. I have visited over 80 California wineries and this was by far the worst. Please avoid...

Tries to have a young, cutting edge vibe. Service is spotty, some very good, some disappointing. We did the Crystal room tasting -- we thought this allowed you to compare wines that had been decanted in Crystal to those that had not -- but we didn't try any decanted wines. (The "tour" was recommended to us by others, but unfortunately we didn't have the time -- wish we'd done the tour.)
