Solano County's seasons

Winter
Winter

(December - February) Due to the deep inland valleys Solano County, this region experiences chilly winters that can delivery blue skies, but freezing temperatures at times. Winter is the slowest time of the year where daytime temps range from 42-55 degrees, so we recommend you dress in layers.

Spring
Spring

(March - May) As Spring arrives, so do the temperatures. The stunning green hillsides beg for a hike and picnic. Spring is also "release" season where most wineries begin offering their latest vintages with special parties and experiences. Reservations are recommended.

Summer
Summer

"(June - August) Summer can offer temperatures from 70-100+ degrees at times depending on if there's a cool breeze coming off the Sacramento Delta. We recommend you drink a lot of water and enjoy yourself as wineries offer many different tour and tasting events to choose from. Reservations are strongly recommended starting mid-June."

Fall
Fall

(September - November) Fall is harvest season in Solano County which offers some fun harvest-related activities for the entire family. Here you will find pumpkin patches and corn mazes which are fun with a group. You'll also find harvest parties to get tickets to if you plan ahead. Reservations are strongly recommended due to most wineries and tasting rooms are small.

Solano County's travel tips

Traveling to Solano County

  • When booking your flight to visit Napa Valley, we recommend flying into Oakland (OAK), San Francisco (SFO) or Sacramento (SMJ), each roughly a 90-minute drive to downtown Napa. Napa Airport (APC) serves the private jet setter.
  • There are plenty of transportation options to get to and from the local airports and to San Francisco. Both Uber and Lyft are readily available for those that want door-to-door service.
  • There are no easy options to arrive in Solano wine country via public transit. You'll need to research the private companies the service the area.
About Solano County
