The Inglenook legacy began in 1879, when Gustav Niebaum, a Finnish sea captain, wine connoisseur, and entrepreneur, came to Rutherford to build a wine estate that would rival Europe's finest. When Niebaum's grandnephew, John Daniel Jr. inherited the chateau and vineyards in the 1930's, Inglenook had already earned international acclaim, which was made legendary by the famed 1941 vintage.

Francis and Eleanor Coppola purchased the property in 1975 and have spent forty years reuniting the original vineyards, returning winemaking operations to the chateau, and restoring Inglenook's illustrious heritage with the help of renowned wine consultant Stephane Derenoncour and Manager Director and Winemaker, Philippe Bascaules. In honor of this estate and its historical significance, we have restored the name Inglenook.

Tour started a little late and was somewhat limited due to the weather. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Wine with cheese pairings--excellent. Overall, a good experience. Would definitely come back.

I love being at Inglenook. I feel transported in both time and place. Found out why I always felt as if I were in France. (I.e. Luxembourg Gardens).

Not at all accommodating for late arrivals. Our uber driver had difficulty finding our house and the weather was very bad, so we were 10 minutes late. We were not allowed to catch up to our tour OR get a refund. We had to pay $5 more for a tasting or lose $45 we paid for the tour. However, John who did our tasting was really great, and is the sole reason behind the stars I am giving Inglenook.

The combination of the history of the winery, the cinematography museum and the quality wine made this extra special compared to the surrounding vineyards.

Knowledgeable and personable sommelier; beautiful grounds; 2 of the wines in the tasting were very enjoyable/worth the tasting and would consider buying. We enjoyed learning about the history of the winery. Great first Napa winery tour.

The beautiful historic setting, a knowledgeable tour & tasting guide made for a great tour. The cozy table setting along with cheese and nut pairings were the perfect accompaniment to the fantastic wines offered. Value far exceeded the cost. Great option on a very rainy recent afternoon!

We had a really great tour and tasting on a very cold day when the host did everything he could to make us comfortable and out of the cold. Very impressed with level of knowledge and enthusiasm in wine, its history and Inglenook's history, some beautiful wines!! This was the best tour of the 5 vineyards experienced on our trip and the museum is pretty cool too.

After driving through the gate and parking, we marveled at the building and landscaping. On approaching the building, a host came out to warmly greet us and take us to our tour guide. We had a wonderful tour of the winery, grounds and museum followed by a special wine tasting paired with cheeses.

We were so surprised at how this wine has evolved into a great tasting wine after years of thinking it was just a "jug wine" Our tour was excellent and we learned so much about how to enjoy the wine experience with cheese, crackers, etc.

The majestic property with it's beautiful gate and long driveway was inspiring. The interior was magical and indeed, the Estate wines were excellent! Mr. Coppola's museum collection of zoetrope's, the Tucker car and movie memorabilia make this winery unique, to say the least. The breathtaking staircase is matched only by the beautiful wine, particularly the Rubicon!

Cellarpass, my reservation was not in their system. They were expecting a group of 6 then we turned up and the group doubled to 12. Graciously they accommodated us but I feel that this mix up affected the tour quality. David, the tour guide tried the best he could but 12 in a group is just too huge. I'm apprehensive of booking through you next time. My direct bookings were flawless and enjoyabl

For my 60th birthday, I planned a trip to wine country with my 2 sisters & a niece. Out of all the things we did in 5 days, Inglenook was by far our favorite tour. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived, and we learned so much about Inglenook's history and also about wine. Our host Sebastian was amazing - he made sure it was a special experience. We will never forget our visit to Inglenook!

Overall it was a very good experience. The check in process was not good and at the end of the tour it was like we were left hanging. We wanted to revisit (taste) one of the wines again as we were considering making a purchase, but the tour guide rushed off and said to meet him in the other room. He was not to be found. Thus, we did not make a purchase.

Kenton was a wonderful and very knowledgeable host. I was especially interested in the history of the property and prior owners. Kenton was able to fill in all the gaps of the ownership and trivia which was exceptional! I found Kenton professional, well groomed, and yet friendly.

Professional, informative tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the winery, as well as the wine production process. The ambiance was excellent as we were able to tour the wine caves as well as other sections of the winery which are normally off limits to the general public. The winery estate building is beautiful with an excellent gift shop and bistro.
